VACANCY: MONITORING, EVALUATION, ACCOUNTABILITY AND LEARNING (MEAL) OFFICER
Caritas Foundation for Justice and Peace, Gboko (Caritas Gboko), invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of MEAL Officer on its ongoing “Building Bridges for Interfaith Harmony and Youth Resilience in Benue and Plateau States” project.
The project strengthens interfaith dialogue, youth resilience, early warning, and community-based conflict prevention across Buruku, Guma, Gwer-West, and Kwande in Benue State, and Jos North, Bokkos, Mangu, and Bassa in Plateau State.
Position Details
- Duty station: Gboko, Benue State, with regular travel to project locations.
- Employment: Full-time
- Reports to: Project Director.
- Resumption: As soon as possible.
- Remuneration: In accordance with the approved project budget and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain the project’s MEAL framework, indicators, and data collection tools.
- Coordinate assessments, field monitoring, and tracking of project outputs and outcomes.
- Collect, validate, analyse, and securely manage project data using Excel and KoboCollect/KoboToolbox.
- Support project staff and enumerators to ensure accurate reporting and data quality.
- Maintain confidential participant feedback and complaints mechanisms, referring sensitive concerns through approved channels.
- Prepare performance reports, document lessons learned, and support programme adaptation and final evaluation.
- Ensure informed consent, safeguarding, confidentiality, and conflict sensitivity in all MEAL activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related discipline.
- At least three years’ relevant monitoring and evaluation or MEAL experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and KoboCollect/KoboToolbox.
- Strong data analysis, report-writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience in peacebuilding, youth development, or donor-funded projects is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel regularly in line with organizational security procedures.
