International Partners

Caritas Gboko has past experience working under Makurdi diocese with many international partners such as CORDAID, Misereor, SWISS hand, CAFOD, CRS, GIZ, Troicare, French Embassy-Abuja and Irish Aids. Activity done with these partners includes Good governance, Peace-building and Emergency response, OVC/SUN, Youth Empowerment, Water and Sanitation, Child mortality, Economic empowerment and sustainable agriculture. All these activities were done between 2006-2014 in different locations of Makurdi, Gboko and Katsina-Ala Diocese.

Local Partners

The organization has engaged local partners like Benue State Government, National Population Commission, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Faith groups, Red Cross Society, BENGONET, Lawyers Alert, Nigeria Police Force, State Security Service, Buruku, Gboko, Makurdi, Otukpo, Vandeikya and Kwande LGAs authorities.

The coordination role of the NO is a key component of the transparency with the funding partners, and it needs to be clarified and reinforced at the RO level.

Various forms of collaborations were built at different levels in providing support to orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) during the period 2006-2010. These activities provided safe environment from abuse and identity denials by communities to which they belonged. Under the project , Caritas Gboko then Gboko deanery facilitated system strengthening of OVC protection through community justice system in all 7 LGAs under her coverage ,conducted birth registration for more than 7,000 vulnerable children, built the capacity of caregivers, OVC, gatekeepers, traditional rulers in Gboko, Buruku,Vandeikya and KatsinaAla deaneries. 2009-2011, JDPC implemented the Savings and Internal Lending Community (SILC) Project. The project helped over 4000 OVC and their caregivers to access to income and homes supplies in 12 groups formed around the diocese.
